Obama...call me a pollyanna if you like, but I'm still holding out hope that he follows the trajectories of Dem presidents like FDR and JFK, both seen as middle-of-the-road Dems during their campaigns, but who went far-out progressive in their presidencies and instituted (or started to, in Kennedy's case) much-needed and sweeping reform.

With Clinton, you know you're not going to get that. I'll take some chance over none any day.

don't get me wrong, i like hillary clinton and all, i just think it's time to quit settling for "kind of". she's "kind of' for queer rights (just don't be trans, looks like i screwed up there, eh?), "kind of" for gay marriage maybe, and i don't really trust her stand on reproductive rights because you know she'll pull a Romney and start playing to the center as soon as the going gets tough against McCain.

i live in Washington, and we've been settling for "kind of" for 12 years now and it sucks. nothing gets accomplished, good law gets watered down to not offend anyone, bad law gets watered down to make it look less bad and harder to fight (like the DOMA we're stuck with here...whenever it's raised as an issue, the defense is "it's less bad than oregon or idaho!") and the status quo rules. obama is anything but the status quo. yeah, i'm not comfortable that he's not for gay marriage per se but i suppose he's closer to it than anyone else we have. he's a maverick, he knows enough that he can learn what he doesn't know (much as FDR did, actually) and this whole country is in such bad financial straits maybe it's time for a serious change.

I'm sad Kucinich dropped out, he had the strongest stance on gay and trans rights, followed by Gravel. I like the tone Obama sets, and if he does nothing other then change the way politics work during his term I would be pleased. I mean maybe if everything stopped being so black and white (no pun intended) issues would actually be debated on their constitutionality, that would be better for all of us. I don't see Hilary doing anything special for the queer community, and I feel she would just be another polarizing force.

Obama. I lived through JFK's assassination, RFK and MLK, Jr.s assassinations and have not been inspired by any politician since then. Obama is the first to move me.

Obama. I would feel uncomfortable if either of two families had an office in the White House for 32 years. (Bush Sr. was Reagan's VP, remember?)

I like the Obama/Clinton. With both of them on the ticket they would just pummel the Republicans. That I would like to see!

I like Hillary. I hate her ties to Tyson Chicken but I think she is wicked smart and perfectly capable of running this country.

As far as gay rights, I feel she is more willing to create positive change than Obama. She knows what it takes. I love that Obama wants change and all and he gets me all fired up when I hear him talk but I also think he's so......green and naive. Like even he gets back to his hotel and looks at Michelle and says, "Can you BELIVE we made it this far??"

Obama is the better choice. He may be green but NOT naive. Hillary on the other hand would be the Democrats version of GWB ssince she voted with him on BOTH Iraq and Iran. I wouldn't choose her as VP.

Call me naieve, but who is Gravel? I honestly thought you were saying at first that you'd rather have small pebbles for president than either candidate! :-)

Obama. I like Clinton but when it comes down to Clinton vs McClain or Obama vs McClain, I think Obama will get more votes. Republicans can't win again. They just can't. The thought knocks the wind out of me.
